The Alhambra Courtyard can be found in Granada, Spain (Attia, 2006). This is one of the best-built styles of palaces because of the fine composition and combination of water, landscape, and architecture. It was constructed between the years 1302 and 1309 during the reign of a person known as Muhammad (Attia, 2006). According to the author’s point, Alhambra has two primary Courts: the Court of Lions and the Court of Myrtles (Attia, 2006). Each Court has an alternative name. These names are Patio de Leones and Patio de los Arrayanes respectively. The writer also argues or describes the layout of these Courts, for he instance the Court of Myrtles is about 23.5 meters wide and 36 meters long. The ratios of dimension are 4:5:3:1 (Attia, 2006). A pond is located at the center of the court.
The Court of Lions on the other hand is characterised with a fountain at the Centre. It also has four channels of axes which form the nucleus or the centre of the Palace (Attia, 2006). Based from the writer’s arguments, the Court has a width of about 20 meters that are surrounded by columns of marbles. Different Courts have a layout that differs from the other. The type vegetation as well as shade varies too. Different types of Vegetation are grown in each Court (Attia, 2006). For instance the irrigation Court has Cypress trees that not present in other Courts. The gallery and balcony are located in the Acequia Court.
