Over the years, he has successfully defined transformational boundaries for an entire century, constantly working on the extremes of human possibility and widening it for mankind. He was born in Seattle, Washington, on October 28, 1955, and grew up in an affluent household. With his impressive contributions that have benefited the country, he outshines most great people. Bill Gates is a co-founder of Microsoft, one of the most well-known names in the computing industry.
He introduced Windows 95, which is now used by 90 percent of machines worldwide. The less fortunate in the world have benefited from the charitable behemoth of Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda Gates. In addition to that, Bill Gates has greatly inspired the era of home computer. This study primarily focuses on the achievements of Bill Gates
Bill Gates has made major contributions to the world through computer science. In 1995 and 1996, he focused Microsoft on the development of enterprise and consumer software solutions for the Internet. He developed the Windows CE, to aid in operating system platforms for networking non-computer devices such as personal digital assistants and home televisions (Gates 2). Currently, he is the chairperson of The Microsoft Corporation, which is leading, worldwide in software brands and is the world’s biggest Microsoft Corporation.
The Microsoft is user- friendly hence, has brought people closer to technology. It provides solutions and services that make people and businesses all over the world realize their full potential (McCoy, David, et al. 1650). Windows 95-98 and 2000 are most widely used XP across the globe, and he recently developed OS like Windows 8, Vista and Windows 7. Microsoft currently employs over 90,000 people in above 100 nations (Gates 59). In this regard, it is evident that Bill Gates has promoted employment opportunities for people, who have responded brilliantly and made other IT breakthroughs across the globe. Windows 2.0, which he founded in 1990 added many programs, features and versatility, hence, added networking to people and as such, advancing technology. Besides, Bill Gates has used his platforms on sharing thoughts based on helping others. The advent of the internet and other media platforms have helped advanced the manner in which government officials and MNCs work.
Bill Gates is known for his charitable acts of committing to giving away his fortunes to the less fortunate. Bill Gates and Melinda have committed to giving 95 percent of their fortune to charity over time, which has been an excellent measure of generosity. Bill Gates can give away 95 percent of his fortune and still make 400 Forbes list each year (Gates 2).
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is aimed at supporting through charity, is the largest private operating foundation in the world. Since its inception, it has made grants of over $28 billion, including $16 in global heath. Warren Buffett made a considerable contribution to the foundation in 2006, but a high percentage of the money that helps in running the foundation is from Gates (Gates 60). The most significant focus of the foundation is to sensitize on the health initiatives, globe education and help with charity concerns.
In the 1990s, Bill and Melinda Gates founded the North American libraries through the Gates Library Foundation, which was in later renamed as Gates Learning Foundation ( Gates 2). The aim of the North American Libraries was to raise money for the purpose of minority study grants through the Gates Millennium Scholar program. The foundation continued to focus on global foundation and global health as well as education in the United States.
Bill Gates is a giving man when it comes to internet and computers (Gates 64)Last year, he visited Chicago’s Einstein Elementary School talked to the students and announced grants that were significant to Chicago’s schools and museums, where he donated 120,000 dollars, connected internet for a number of schools and donated a bunch of computers. In addition to that, Bill Gates donated 40 million dollars for the building of a computer institute at Stanford University. He consistently donates to Habitat for Humanity. He is known for donating some charities and causes especially those promoting computers.
Bill Gates has been successful over the years because he is in a fast growing industry. He has been involved in this industry since he was in school. His first company was called Traf-O- Data, which sold a program that was used to count traffic in the city. After he had founded Microsoft with his partner Paul Allen, the Microsoft grown and up to date, has no sign of slowing down. (McCoy, David, et al 1645) It has been calculated that Microsoft controls 85-90% of the entire PC software industry. No one can predict how life could have been without this great contribution. The world has immensely benefited from the contribution that Bill Gates of the Microsoft DOS operating system which is still used today.

Bill Gates is a public figure that the world will live to remember especially, relating to his great achievements and contributions. He has made the world a better place with the introduction of the Microsoft and the internet. Moreover, Bill Gates is, generous and the world acknowledges that.
