Currently, I am working as a statistician and junior financial analyst in one of the US’s market research firms. At the workplace, I am tasked with data collection, analysis, and forecasting of market trends. In the last three days, I have been using a smartphone to collect market data using the Open Data ToolKit (ODK). Also, a laptop to analyze and collect data using Statistical Analysis Software (SAS).
Artificial Intelligence in My Life
Artificial intelligence is widely used in several aspects of my life. I use my smartphone to check grammar and spelling errors whenever I write a message to my friends and co-workers. Applications like Grammarly allow me to spell-check everything I write. Besides, the autocorrection options automatically adjust any typing errors that I make. Furthermore, I use the Google search engine to find anything on the internet. Google voice search help me to find information by pronouncing the words out loud. Other applications like Google Maps help me on a daily basis as well. I can quickly locate my current location or find the shortest route possible. I can collect market data using the statistical survey tool (ODK) installed on the smartphone. The laptop allows me to sort large volumes of data and carry out an analysis. Furthermore, I make predictions on market trends and insights, using the statistical analysis tools installed on the device (Dreyfus, 2016). The analysis tool interprets the data and carries out the forecast on the changes in future market performance.
Impact of Artificial Intelligence on My Daily Routine
AI has a significant impact on how I perform my tasks. The data collection has been more comfortable and straightforward. With the Open Data Kit’s help, I can record respondents’ information quickly. Unlike the traditional written interviews, where data officers had to work around with large volumes of survey forms, ODK has ensured a lot of information is kept in an application (Dreyfus, 2016). Moreover, the application can detect outliers when collecting data, thereby increasing the level of accuracy. Hence, I have produced a very accurate market forecast using the application and prediction features. When data is fed into the statistical analysis software, it reads the specific patterns and predicts the outcome. Besides, it interprets and makes a valid conclusion that is free from human mistakes. These two devices served as my virtual assistants. My workload has been significantly reduced. By collecting quality and accurate information from the field, it produces exceptional quality output.
Intelligent machines have replaced human beings in their various areas of work. Devices like laptops and smartphones have solved many common problems. Due to the AI programmed in these machines, they can process data faster than any human alive. Hence, make our life easier and more comfortable.
It is safe to say that AI is used in my everyday life. As a statistician and financial analyst, artificial intelligence has ensured that I carry out an accurate analysis and understanding of market data. AI has reduced the workload and ensured that I deliver precise and accurate information to my clients.
